Independent pharmacy benefit verification
Can you verify what your health plan vendors are providing?
Glass River Analytics independently checks that your pharmacy benefit contract, claims and invoices line up. Your pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) manages prescription benefits for your plan. We verify what it delivers, so the findings are yours alone.

What a review checks
Contract, claims, invoices: side by side.
Sample plan (illustrative data)
Harborview Manufacturing Co.
Self-insured, fictional sample plan
Billed price vs. contract price caps
$24,391 above cap
Illustrative: 438 of 4,673 benchmarked claims were priced above the caps in the contract, tracing to two specific patterns the plan sponsor can put to the PBM in writing.

If your company self-insures its health plan, you pay pharmacy claims directly. Your pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) processes those claims, negotiates drug prices and runs your formulary. Your contract spells out how prices, rebates, fees and recoupments should work. Your invoices show totals. Checking one against the other takes the contract language, the claims data and an independent price reference side by side.
Plan fiduciaries are expected to review and document how their PBM arrangement serves plan participants. We do that check and give you the written record.
Our process
How it works.
01
You share your data securely.
We request your PBM contract and plan data through a secure upload. We never ask for claims data by email.
02
We verify it against your contract and independent benchmarks.
We check what was billed against what the contract says and against public pricing references, and every control gets a result.
03
You get a written report you own.
It shows what we found, what it means and what your options are. Share it with counsel, your board or your benefits committee.

Why independent?
Fixed fee. No contingency. No vendor payments.
We take no money from the vendors we review. We report what the data shows, nothing more and nothing less.
Why now?
The Supreme Court's 2025 Cunningham v. Cornell decision addresses how ERISA prohibited-transaction claims can proceed, not whether a particular PBM contract violates the law. A written review helps you document what your plan receives.
State PBM requirements vary, including rules for pricing and disclosures. We keep reference comparisons separate from contract findings so you can discuss the relevant questions with counsel.
